At Family Martial Arts we offer a mixed martial arts (MMA) program for both kids and adults. Our classes are a blend of Striking Arts, Grappling Arts and Kali.
Our core curriculum infuses aspects of Boxing, kick boxing and Jeet Kune Do for striking. Wrestling, submission grappling and Jui-jitsu are predominate in our grappling arts. Last, but by no means least, is Kali, which is a Filipino martial art which incorporates knife and sword techniques into a proven self defense system.
We offer programs for kids, teens, and adults that will benefit both your:
- Mind – Develop greater discipline, concentration,and self-respect
- Body – Increase your flexibility, endurance, and muscle tone
Our 4 main goals at Family Martial Arts are to develop Character, Balance, Self Defense and to have FUN!
CHARACTER- Developing character is our number 1 priority. Our trained instructors use proven teaching methods to improve focus, self esteem, self-discipline and teamwork. We use a character points program in our kids classes to both focus on, and reward positive behavior.
BALANCE- We strive to teach passive children to stand up for themselves and for aggressive children to learn compassion and self control.
SELF DEFENSE- All of our MMA classes are focused on the basic aspects of self defense. This includes striking ,takedowns, ground fighting and weapons.
FUN- This is perhaps our most important goal. Children excel when excited about what they are doing. (Adults as well!) Our curriculum includes many fun games and sparring drills, including padded swords.
